Changhai Hospital, Naval Medical University

Founded in July 1949, Changhai Hospital is a large military-run tertiary hospital under the Naval Medical University, spanning a main campus and a Hongkou campus with roughly 2,700 beds and 62 clinical departments. It holds 6 lead national key disciplines, 9 supporting national key disciplines, 1 national clinical research center and 14 national clinical key specialties, with particular strength in burn/trauma care, digestive disease, urologic disease, cardio-cerebrovascular disease and multi-organ/stem-cell transplantation. Its Gastroenterology and Urology departments are both national clinical key specialties, the latter tracing to one of China's first post-1949 urology departments.
